Old Cars From Yesteryear

Found these, Saved them, Edited them.  So Cool.

Page Two

This '50 Ford is a thing of beauty with the clean lines. It looks to be V-8 in the front grill circle. This '57 Ford is one of the rare Hardtop Convertible. Shows how the Hardtop Convertible worked, top stored in the trunk. Ad for the 1956 Thunderbird. 1956 T-Birds on the assembly line.

Last American Convertible in 1976.

See the comments on this historic day.

Neat old photo of Carhops in the 50's. Might be colorized as the guy inside looks weird. The prices are as I remember them.

Chevy 58 Line. Note the insignia on the hood. Without a "V" there, this means it's a 6-Cylinder engine.

Chevys in 1947. Neat to show all the front ends and gas tanks waiting to be installed. Notice the first car is a Sedan, then Fastback, then Sedan.

A big event, the 52 Million Chevy produced. Came about in 1964.

1958 Chevy Impala. First year for these. Note both of these are V-8's, as the hood insignia shows. 1957 Chevys. We know the center one is a V-8, 283 Cube, looks like 4 barrel carb, Hi Perf. Chevy 1964. Didn't know they installed engines from the bottom. V-8, small block, has to be 327 Cube Chevy 1959 Impalas. We can see this one has a V-8, probably small block 283 Cube Chevy 1957. Really early in the body assembly.  Even that 4-door would be worth a fortune today.

1963 Chevy Impala Super Sport. Top of the line.

1949 Desoto. When they were a big seller.

VW Dealer. Karman Ghia's were a hot item. Worked on many of these when I was a VW mechanic.

1939 Olds Line. All GM cars looked alike back then.

Pontiac 1952 Line. Notice how these looked like Chevys.

Studebaker for 1951. They were either loved or hated. 1948 Studebaker. Like I said..... 1948 Tucker. Rear engine, center headlight moved to the left or right. Ahead of it's time. Another 1948 Tucker. Word is the Auto Industry conspired to drive them out of business. Used Car Lot in 50's. In center is a '51 Mercury. I had one when a Soph. Wish I had it today.

Gulf Gas Station in the 1940's.

Sinclair Gas Station in the 1950's. I believe that's a '54 or '55 Dodge in front.

We loved those signs for a "Gas War". This is the 40's.

Sinclair Gas Station at night in 1939

Used Car Lot in 50's. From left, '56 Chevy tail end, Pontiac Station Wagon, couple '55 Chevys, Olds

Used Car Lot in 1958. '57 Chevys, '57 Lincoln, '57 Ford.

Used Car Lot in Hollywood in 1942

Dealer Showroom in 1942. Sign says Desoto.

Chevy's first V-8 in 1955. I had one of these, gave the block away. Today I have a '56 265 Engine stored.

The 327 Cube engine was monumental. It was a leap forward in horsepower. Same basic engine as '55. I have one of these blocks saved.

This is labeled "Times Square in the 1940's". I wish it wasn't that motion photo but it's still neat.
