Phyllis Moak Shearer wrote in:

“Mrs. Pruter, Tyrrell School, 5th Grade was our teacher. I was Romany Rose, a fortune teller, 5th from left on the front row. My dad would not let us play with “spotted cards” and, of course, my part called for playing cards to be sewn on the white apron I was to wear. I was safe as my dad never attended our plays or musicals so mom bought a deck of cards on the way to the play, took out the cards she needed, put the deck under the front seat and sewed them on my apron there.

Dad drove mom’s car in the next few days, had to put on the brakes quickly and out came the pack of cards right under his feet! Luckily, mom retrieved them quickly without him seeing them.

Those were the days!”

She has sent actually 7 Tyrrell Elementary School Photos.

Six are fine and cleaned up nicely, one however is just too far

damaged to do anything with it. It's First Grade, Teacher Stuckey.

If any of you can dig up a better one, let me know. Otherwise, here

are what we have, leaving room for the names hopefully to come. She

also has an additional notation about that "White Gypsy Play" down below.

The Principal in all these is Mr. Spradley.
